Synopsis:

My partner and i have created a trailer about drugs and their potential side effects. our trailer is around 3 minutes long and contains all the basic conventions of a film trailer. mt trailer is a hybrid of comedy and science fiction.

Research

I have conducted interviews which can be located in the Unit 1-4 page entitled "Trailer research part1" & "Trailer research part 2"

The interviews made me aware of peoples interests and i decided to design my work according to the views of the public we asked members of the public what their favourite genre is and I received mixed response the 1st interviewee declared that comedy was her favourite genre so my partner Andre Mensah and I took that into consideration during the preparation of our trailer we also asked what stands out for them in their favourite genre the 1st interviewee also stated that she appreciates the jokes and the way the actors behave because they cause her to laugh so we made the main character behave in a silly way while he was going through his "high" to portray that he was extremely vulnerable and was not aware of how he was behaving. Now on the other hand the 2nd interviewee said that her favourite genre was science fiction which was convenient because our trailer was about the effects of drugs so we were able to manipulate our footage so it was comical as well as weird and confusing she also said that she enjoys the different aspects of science fiction because the genre can apply to many different things, she then went on to say that she loves cliffhangers in a film because it then entices the audience and makes them want to watch the full movie so I ensured that the film trailer ended on a cliffhanger.
