RESEARCH:
i think that the sports hall will be a convenient location for the music video as it allows the dancers space and it will make the choreography flow nicely in the allocated space, it also allows space for the equipment which means we can get some good shots and angles, for example birds eye views
, 360s etc

Another good location for our music video is an outdoor car park as it would give the music video an upbeat feel, due to the connotations of bright blue sky it would make sense, due to the lyrics of the song as it about love and love is seen to be a positive thing.

i think a black room would have a good look as the color black is associated with mystery and it will tie in with the name of the song " demon dogs" however it will contrast some of the song lyrics therefore creating an enigma code as the lyrics swing between love and heartbreak

as for costumes i think that the dancers should wear colors such as blue as the color blue has negative and positive connotations so it will relate to the song lyrics as the artists talk about love and heartbreak, ive been watching music videos of the rhythm and blues genre and the colors they tend to wear have a connection with the song lyrics for example "Beyonce - crazy in love" the color red which is associated with love is visible in some scenes.
in Ashanti's song " foolish" the color red is present as it connotes anger and disappointment which can are emotions that are evident in the song lyrics she uses the color red to reinforce her lyrics and make the viewer feel the sentiment she talks about in her song.

Meeting Minutes
We had a few discussions with the performing art students to talk about locations, costumes, allocate jobs, practice runs and the final shoot
1st week: in the afternoon we met in the media classroom, we were showed past music videos that were shot by South thames college staff and students, we heard the song for the first time and we were put into groups to discuss our ideas and make plans for the video
2nd week: We went over to the dance studio and saw there choreography we also talked about potential locations and dates we have available for filming
3rd week: We went over with cameras and tri-pods to test out some shots and angles and put some ideas into action so we can narrow down our pre-production and make the final production more organized
4th week: We went to the dance studio again and watched some of their new dances.
5th week: we started filming for the final production.
My music video conforms to the Rhythm and Blues Genre as it has an upbeat feel due to the fast pace edits and shots used,
The music video shows both sides of the song as some of the lyrics talk about heartbreak and loneliness and some of the lyrics are sanguine and optimistic
the starting lyrics of the music video depict happiness " when i first met you, you weren't the one i expected" showing that the person has brought something new to the table the dancers illustrated this by using an upbeat dance which had a lot of movement, i put this particular clip of the three girls at the start of the video to depict that the song writers emotions as it would help start the music video off on a positive note
as the video progresses different clips are used to accompany the lyrics for example at the 2.40 mark the dancers used choreography to aid the lyrics and so they mimicked a lovers quarrel for this particular scene and i edited it using perfect timing to give the viewers the true understanding of the lyrics
The locations were chosen by the performing art students but king George's park reinforces the idea of a fresh start as connoted by the start of the song, they also used the black room as the color black is mysterious with fear and the unknown and the song talks about the fear of losing someone you love
the shots and angles are not that complicated and technical because the song is pretty basic and easy to comprehend furthermore some of the equipment used to achieve difficult and technical were not at my disposal however my teacher did bring a dolly so we can get some tracking shots in spite of this i did not use any tracking shots in my final edit as i felt it looked bit amateur.
editing the sound was difficult but fun at the same time because i did not use the raw audio it was hard the time it perfectly but i tried my best to combine the beat of the song with the clips, it was a new learning experience as I've never used a soundtrack rather than raw audio but i think i did a pretty good job.
I also used Adobe After Effects CC 2017 to edit in the title of the song, this was new to me as i normally avoid using after effects because i am not that good at using it however this time was different and i found it easy i think now that i will start using After Effects as much as possible as it makes the edit bit more interesting.
In conclusion think my music video was good but could have been better if i used advanced shots and angles, this is something i can look into in the future to better my work and my grade. I also forgot to add credits at the end of the video but this is something i can do in future
